Intune Android Device Registration

Microsoft Intune Admin Center


Device Enrollment

  • Go to Devices > Android > Android enrollment.
  • Click Managed Google Play.
  • Click Launch Google to connect now.
  • Make a new Google account and verify
  • Back in Intune, go to Devices > Android > Android enrollment.
  • Click Corporate-owned, fully managed user devices or Corporate-owned dedicated devices
  • Make a new profile
  • You can join these to a group
  • Once it's saved, you can view the enrollment token which is a QR code


Add apps

  • Go to Apps > Android > Add > select Managed Google Play app, then click Select.
  • In the Google Play window that opens, search for and approve these exact apps:
    • Microsoft Intune (com.microsoft.intune)
    • Microsoft Outlook (com.microsoft.office.outlook)
    • Microsoft Edge (com.microsoft.emmx)
    • Microsoft Managed Home Screen
  • Click Sync and wait a few mintues for the apps to show in the list
  • For each application, click on it, and in the properties set the required group to the group that we made above.


Device Configuration Policy

  • Go to Devices > Android > Configuration > Create > New Policy
  • Platform: Android Enterprise
  • Profile type: Templates
  • Fully Managed -> Device restrictions
  • In the settings menu, expand Device experience:
    • Device experience type: Kiosk mode
    • Kiosk mode: Multi-app
    • Home screen: Lock home screen
    • Click Add and select all the apps you need
  • Assign this profile to your user group


Expose WiFi and Settings Menu

  • Go to Apps > Manage Apps -> Configuration > Add > Create -> Manage devices
  • Platform: Android Enterprise
  • Profile Type: Fully Managed, Dedicated, and Corporate-Owned Work Profile Only
  • Targeted App: Select Managed Home Screen
  • In the settings section, choose Use configuration designer
  • Search for and set the following toggles to True:
    • Enable Managed Settings
    • Enable Wi-Fi setting
    • (Optional but recommended) Enable virtual home button (so users can easily get back to the main screen).
  • Assign this policy to your user group.
