Quickbooks: Verify Subscription Error When Installing

When installing QuickBooks, in the middle of setup, an error comes up saying:

Sorry, we need to verify your subscription before installing QuickBooks, but we can't connect to our servers. Please try installing again later.

This often comes up when install QuickBooks Enterprise 15 or 16. Those versions were originally sold as perpetual licenses, but later, they decided that they would enforce the subscriptions. You need to use an older install file (R5 for example) to install.
