Get the firmware file from Cisco:
https://software.cisco.com/download/home/284455428/type/282046477/release/Gibraltar-16.12.14
Put the file onto a FAT32 formatted USB and put that into the USB port on the front of the switch.
Boot the switch using a serial console. At a prompt, run:
show version
If the current version is 3.x:
software install file usbflash0:cat3k_caa-universalk9.16.12.14.SPA.bin force new
If the current version is 16.x:
copy usbflash0:cat3k_caa-universalk9.16.12.14.SPA.bin flash: request platform software package install switch all file flash:cat3k_caa-universalk9.16.12.14.SPA.bin auto-copy reload
After the upgrade, run this to clean extra files on flash:
request platform software package clean switch all
